QuickWrite of the Day #16: Endings, Beginnings, Changes
Today’s QuickWrite of the Day:
Poet and author C. Joybell C. writes that “ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin.” This got me thinking about life right now—while many of our favourite things seemed to have ended for the time being, if you look closely, you might be able to see some new beginnings or changes. For example, today, when I went for my walk to the beach, I saw flocks of birds gather in a spot where I am usually lucky to spot five or six of them. This was a beautiful thing to observe and wouldn’t have been possible if there were lots of people around like there normally are. In the stillness and quiet, the birds have returned, and to me, that counts as a new beginning or change. I was glad I was there to experience it and part of me hopes that this is a change we can keep when things go back to normal, although I know that when the crowds of people come back the birds are likely to fly away. What changes or new beginnings have you noticed in your life or around you that you would not have experienced before? Which changes would you like to stick around when this emergency situation is over and why? Write about it!
